CHRIS RICCARDO

Chris Riccardo’s ceramic sculptures feature forms and personalities in moments of discomfort, forcing the viewer into an uncomfortable interaction worthy of ridicule.  His figures are baudy, feral, and unashamed, tapping into the stranger moments  of interpersonal interactions. Anxiety, hesitation, and typically shamed emotions are instead allowed to thrive, unchecked by the filters of social nicety.

My sculptures are a direct physical manifestation of my inner thoughts and moral struggles. They are frozen moments in time ripped from the ongoing struggle that takes place in my mind. The battle between good and evil, right and wrong and quite honestly a multitude of both morally and ethically questionable thoughts.” -Artist Statement
