Horses America Urban Luminosity

Michael Eastman began his career as a fine art photographer over thirty years ago. The St. Louis native has traveled throughout Europe and Cuba to shoot his architectural and landscape photographs. He has also been equally inspired by life in MIssouri, where he resides. In 1999, Eastman begain a series of horse portraits. That work is represented int he monograph Horses, published by Knopf in 2003.

Eastman's work is in many collections, including those of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the International Center of Photography in New York City, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Eastman has been the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Grant and has been published in Time, The New York Times, Life, and American Photographer.
